In SAP S/4 HANA check whether there is a client and RFC destination available for the client you want to use for the connection to SAP Integration Framework 2.0. Create a logical system and an RFC destination for SAP Integration Framework 2.0 in SAP S/4 HANA.
The configuration steps definition is based on SAP S/4 HANA releases. Steps may vary in other releases. If your system is based on other releases, refer to the documentation in SAP Help Portal (help.sap.com).
A logical system that represents your SAP S/4 HANA client must be available in SAP S/4 HANA.
In a technically configured SAP S/4 HANA, this client is already available. Check the logical system entry, and note down the information. You will need it later when you set up connectivity in SAP Integration Framework 2.0.
Procedure
The system displays a warning that settings in the table are cross-client relevant.
Do not change any settings.
An RFC destination and a port assigned to the RFC destination must be available for the client you want to use in SAP S/4 HANA.
In a technically configured SAP S/4 HANA system, the RFC connection entry, as well as the assignment to a system port, is already there. To ensure the setup works well, follow the procedure in this section.
If the RFC destination and the system port assignment are not yet available, refer to the SAP S/4 HANA standard documentation to set up the entries.
Procedure
To enable RFC communication between SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Integration Framework 2.0, define an RFC destination in SAP S/4 HANA that points to SAP Integration Framework 2.0.
NOTE
Please see also SAP-Help Portal: -> Create your RFC Destination or -> Communication between SAP System and external System (Pre-Read)
Procedure
- In the RFC Destination field, enter the unique key for the RFC destination, for example B1I176550A.
- Use capital letters only.
- Use the same name for the RFC destination as for the logical system name that represents your SAP Integration Framework 2.0 server, for example B1I176550A.
2. In the Connection Type field, select T (start external program using TCP/IP).3. In the Description field, enter a short text for the RFC destination.4. Confirm your entries with ENTER.4. Choose the Technical Settings tab.
This entry is necessary only for the RFCP connection. The server program with this ID is set up and running on the SAP Integration Framework 2.0 server for the RFC call.
5. Choose the Unicode tab. and in the Communication Type with Target System area, select the Non-Unicode or Unicode radio button, in accordance with your SAP S/4 HANA system setup options and save your settings.
You can check the Unicode-related setup of your SAP S/4 HANA system selecting System → Status… in the SAP System Data section in the Unicode System field.
