Master Data Distribution in SAP S/4 HANA in Integration Hub

Master Data Distribution in SAP S/4 HANA in Integration Hub

Master Data (sap.MasterData) is part of the integration package sap.SubsidiaryIntegration and distributes centrally maintained master data (Business Partners and Items) to your integrated company network. This scenario establishes the foundation for all other integration scenarios. It is agreed that the Headquarters (SAP S/4 HANA) is the owner of the master data. The process of distributing master data has to get started from the Headquarters. Any changes on master data has to be executed via the Headquarters.

Material and item are synonyms for product in this document.

Customer and business partner are synonyms for customers in this document.

The scenario consists of the following steps:

  1. Initial setup of your subsidiary SAP Business One with product master data from the headquarters SAP S/4 HANA.
  2. Customizing data management to set up value mapping with SAP S/4 HANA values.
  3. Keeping the previously distributed master data synchronized. This includes inserts and updates for master data records coming from SAP S/4 HANA. SAP S/4 HANA is the central master data server for the subsidiary network. This implies that the scenario overwrites changes that you maintain in the subsidiary systems.

The illustration above describes the product distribution: sap.S4PR2B1IT.Main and sap.S4PR2B1IT.RCV:

In SAP S/4 HANA the master data administrator initiates the download of business partner and/or product records to the connected SAP Business One system(s) in the subsidiaries or branches.

SAP Integration Framework 2.0 determines the target system(s) for the master data.

SAP Integration Framework 2.0 prepares the data for SAP Business One system(s) providing the expected field structures and values.

SAP Integration Framework 2.0 sends the data to all previously determined SAP Business One target systems (see SLD entries).

If SAP S/4 HANA has an update or new record available, it automatically sends the new or updated information to SAP Integration Framework 2.0.

SAP Integration Framework 2.0 sends new and updated information to the relevant SAP Business One system(s).
