Setup Intercompany Solution with Multiple Branches

With Intercompany Patch level 26, user can now use the intercompany solution with branch enabled companies.
With branch solution user can work across branches on one company database and with Intercompany Solution user can work with different SAP Business One database located on same server or at multiple servers.

Users with multiple legal entity may want to use branch solution and intercompany solution together to handle various business scenarios.
  1. Companies using intercompany solution to integrate subsidiaries in different geographies and want to use branch solution to handle different business units in one of the subsidiary companies.  
  1. Company using branch solution and want to integrate subsidiaries in different geographies using Intercompany Solution.

To setup intercompany with multiple branches, you need to perform the following steps:

Enable the multi-branch feature in SAP Business One.
  1.       From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose Administration -> System Initialization -> Company Details.
  1.       On the Basic Initialization tab of the Company Details window, select the Enable Multiple Branches checkbox.
  1.       Choose the Update button.

You must define the Global Data Authorizations for the user enabling Branches in the SAP Business One company if the intercompany solution is already configured and running.
To open the Global Data Authorizations window, choose Administration -> Setup -> Intercompany -> Global Data Authorizations.


Define branches in the system
  1. From the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose Administration -> Setup -> Financials -> Branches.
  1. In the Branches – Setup window, specify relevant information.
  1. Choose the Update button.
Once you define the branches in all relevant companies configured in the intercompany landscape, you must deploy the intercompany solution.

To deploy and initialize the intercompany integration solution, in the Company Registration table (in the Administration Console, choose Setup → Landscape), choose the Deploy button. The Deployment Status table displays the progress and status of various deployment tasks



Note
      Whenever you perform any add or update in the Branches –Setup window, you must deploy the intercompany integration solution again.
      On deployment, the intercompany integration solution automatically assigns all active branches to the B1i user in all the branch enabled companies.

Caution
If you are setting-up the intercompany solution on already branch enabled companies then above three steps are not required. You need to perform the regular steps required to perform the intercompany solution setups.

You must assign the branches to the user. Every user must be assigned to at least one branch to be able to create any document.
