The SAP Business One provides the Query Generator / Query Wizard Tools to generate adhoc reports via user queries. The User Defined Query Replication feature replicates the user defined queries to one or multiple branch companies based on the selection in sender company.
To use the User Defined Query Replication process:
1. Create a query using the Query Generator or Query Wizard (refer to the SAP Business One Online Help) and save it.
2. Open the Query Manager from Tools --> Queries --> Query Manager.
3. Select the query created in step 1.
Note
To use the User Defined Query Replication feature, you must save the system queries with a new name. Ensure that the field alias does not contain spaces or any special characters.
4. In Query Manager window following options are provided:
o ALL: Replicates the User Defined Query in all the branch companies
o Selection: Selecting this will open a new window that contains the list of branch companies. You can select the branch code(s) in which the query needs to be replicated.
Note
· The preceding options are only available for a user if the Can Replicated User Defined Query checkbox is selected in the Users – setup window.
· To open the Users – setup window, in the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose Administration --> Setup --> General --> Users
· To view the query replication status, select the Check Status from the dropdown on Replicate button on the Query Manager window.
5. Click on Replicate button to replicate the selected user-defined query.
Note
· The query categories are managed by the user manually that should contain the same description/name of the category including the upper and lower case in all the companies in the landscape.
· If the query category exists in the receiving company then the user-defined query gets replicated under the same category otherwise it gets replicated under the default “General” category in the particular receiver company.
· In case, the query with the same name under the same category exists in the receiver company, then the existing user-defined query in receiving company gets updated otherwise it will create a new query.
· The Replicate button remains disabled for the system-defined queries.
The “ALL” and “Selection” options along with the Replicate button on the query manager window are visible if the
checkbox Can Replicated User Defined
Query is checked on Users
setup to the logged in
user.
