The sandbox environment allows for testing and validation without impacting live operations. Below are the recommended steps for setting up the sandbox environment—either on the same server or on a different server.
Create Database Copies
Make a backup of the production company databases and restore them with different names for the sandbox use.
Create Sandbox SLD Category
In the SLD, create a new Sandbox/Test SLD Category, and move all the test databases into this new category.
Verify SLD Entries
Check and confirm that all details (e.g., database names, credentials) in the SLDs are correct. Also, test both B1DI and JDBC connections for each company.
Configure the Landscape
Set up the Intercompany landscape for the Test SLD Category to mirror the production environment.
Note: Use the same branch codes as in the production landscape.
Activate Sandbox License
Assign the sandbox license to the Sandbox SLD Category.
Deploy the Intercompany Solution
Deploy the solution from the Intercompany Administration Console.
User Allocation & Key Mapping
Complete the User License Allocation and perform the Key Mapping setup.
Configure Event Sender
Update the Event Sender configuration to work with the sandbox setup.
Install Intercompany Console
Install the Intercompany Administration Console on the new server.
Migrate Databases
Export the Company and Landscape databases from the production server and import them into the new sandbox server.
Create SLD Entries
In the new server, create the necessary SLD Category and SLD Entries (use the same SLD Category name as production, if desired).
Verify SLD Connections
Test and validate both B1DI and JDBC connections for all entries.
Configure the Landscape
Set up the Intercompany landscape in the same way as production.
Ensure branch codes remain consistent with the production environment.
Activate Sandbox License
Apply the sandbox license keys on the new environment.
Deploy the Intercompany Solution
From the new server, deploy the solution to the sandbox databases.
User Allocation & Key Mapping
Complete the User License Allocation and set up Key Mapping for all relevant objects.
Configure Event Sender
Reconfigure the Event Sender service in the new environment.
Update B1i Server Details
Enter and validate the necessary details under the B1i Server Details screen in the Intercompany Administration Console.
